We've CRASHED!!!

Really and truly this is the best answer I can give right now as to why I haven't updated this is such a long time. I can't even begin to tell you all about the happenings of this past month. It has been a whirlwind to say the least. I will update this soon. I just have to get to a point where I can write about this month without shedding so many tears...I will update soon....

ALL HALLOW's EVE!!

This year we kept Halloween very simple. We really weren't sure what was going on with life still at this time and so the kids did great using costumes from the previous years. Emily was a Barbarian (Ash was this years ago) and didn't she do good posing as one? Christian was a Gangster-he was this last year too and was fine with it as well.
Emily really tried to look scary-BUT she is just too cute to be a barbarian girl...

Oh my Gosh! This mask can really freak a person out. I was standing in the kitchen and Emily thought she would be funny and come out of the garage with it on and she quietly said, "Mom." I turned to look at her and I jumped and screamed so loud-I was shaking after she did this. Then just a few minutes later Christian put it on and he was in his bathroom and came out into the hall-I was walking down the hall and I jumped and freaked out again! So I had to get a picture of him in it just to show you all how real it looks.
This is the only picture I got of Christian in his costume. He really looked good.
Ash though, had parties to go to and wanted to really dress up so she got herself a Greek Goddess outfit and did good with the sandals, earrings and bracelets all being on clearance at the Mall. She looked cute and got to use it 2 nights in a row.

This is the "loot" that was collected just by Christian. Emily had about this much too. We do a little game with the candy every year. You have to put all the candy you don't want in a gallon ziplock bag and fill it as full and tight as you can with candy. Then you put it on the porch with a note to the "Goblin" and the next morning you will receive a gift in place of the candy. The kids have always loved doing this. This is our last year with Emily halfway believing in it-but she and Christian both did it and they got $10 itunes cards in exchange. Anything to get all that candy out of our home.
These are two of Em's good friends who live on our street. Natalee Goeken and Camie Mendoza.
These are neighborhood girls too. Three of them are the daughters of my friend Leslie who is in YW's with me. Her girls are Hailey, Nicole and Savanah. They sure did have fun Halloween night.

Grandma's...ooh grandmas!

We love having grandma Carmen here and are ever so grateful for the time she has taken to be here for us. We needed her to help when I was in the hospital trying to recover from the that terrible accident that happened a few weeks ago. She was able to stay for almost 10 days and was thrilled to be able to see Lisa and Mark Denny and family as well. Her only daughter. Thanks for cooking - cleaning - ironing and just being here for the kids. It was great to see her doing some canning of apples too. We really kept her going and she put up with us just the same.
