Just after getting back from Boise we packed Emily up and sent her off to a camp at Utah State University in Logan, UT. It was called: Retreat for Girls. She was so excited she couldn't stand it. She went with a friend from school-Cambrea Moffett-her mom is the music teacher at our Elem. school. We have gotten to know each other from teaching together and the girls were in the same class this year. They had the time of their lives and can't wait to go back next summer. So many fun memories and lots of activities planned. It is kind-of like an EFY that Ashleigh went to but for girls only and the ages of 11-15. Girls came from all over the country. Emily was put with 9 other 11/12 year olds and a cute, fun counselor with the nickname of "Spike." They didn't get to find out their real name until Friday. Each night I would talk to her and she would be more excited than the night before. Too many fun times, waking up early each day, doing service projects, listening to speakers, playing games and making crafts. It was a wonderful first experience at camp for her. Now she'll want to attend every year and enjoy it even more as the years go by. Hopefully she'll go each year and then decide to be a counselor too. That is how it got started-two friends were counselors for EFY and knew they wanted to start a camp just for girls who were LDS and could make friendships that would last a lifetime while doing service for others and enjoying it along the way.

Just getting started by meeting Spike, their counselor, getting a room key and name tag. Have a great week, Emily.
Each group of girls had a country they were respresenting. The director chose these because they each had a temple built there and the theme was: Sisterhood around the world.
They act like they know where they are going and what to do-loving it already!
Emily and Cambrea look like they have been to camps before. We both-moms-weren't sure how they would do being away with a bunch of girls they didn't know, in a dorm room with 6 others and gone for 5 days-they didn't even flinch for one second and acted like it was the 100th time they had done it. That's how well it was organized with planned activities and kept them busy all day and night. I think it was so good for Emily and loved that she did great. She has some funny stories to tell and some moving ones too.
