Garden-our pathetic attempt---

This was taken back in May when Nef was getting the little part of our yard ready for a garden and before we decided to finish it with sod and sprinklers.

This is our weak attempt at putting in a garden. Nef has been traveling so much lately and we really wanted to plant a few things so Ash and I decided that we just better get it done. We planted 12 raspberry plants (just for us!-we LOVE them) and then a few other small ones: cucumber, pumpkin, and tomatoes. We also put in two trees, a peach and one other-I can't remember right now...I don't know if we'll get any products-we aren't that great at gardening and it is so much work-I worked 10 hours on it with Ashleigh and put my back out bad! I knew better but wanted to get it done. I have paid dearly for it and hope I can recover soon. I haven't had this much pain in months. Dumb or dumber? If we have raspberries in a few years, you'll all be getting jam as Christmas gifts. You'll know if they live or die too-maybe I shouldn't have given away that knowledge. If we do get fruit Ash and I will be living the good life-I would be in heaven if all I ate was raspberries!!!

Now look! The yard is complete and we are done worrying about what to do with that last part of it. When we were trying to decide if we should pour concrete, plant trees, etc. Nef was measuring it and to our astonishment that "little" part of our half acre is MORE than entire lot we had in Henderson, NV including the land that our house was on!!! We had the same size house-just two stories instead of one and a basement and the yard included, front and back. That is a little scary-I can't even picture an entire house sitting on that size of a lot.
